The BJP ST Morcha chairman Antaryami Gamang and treasurer of Odisha Jana Morcha (OJM) Sarat Mishra joined Biju Janata Dal in presence of party supremo Naveen Patnaik at his residence here on Tuesday.
Mishra, who was allotted ticket by OJM to contest from Bhubaneswar (North) constituency, was refused later to fight and his candidature was withdrawn. OJM on Monday issued a press release in this regard accusing him of ‘untrustworthy’. Being displeased over such activities, he took the step, sources said.
Similarly, Gamang, who was the chairman of BJP ST Morcha (Jana Jati Morcha) and a member of Gajapati Zilla Parishad resigned from the party on Monday citing opportunistic politics and cynicism in the party. He alleged that he had been sidelined from all party activities even being involved in all grassroot- level work.
