Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik felicitated State sprinter Dutee Chand here on Thursday, for her outstanding performance in the Junior Asian Athletic meet at ChineseTaipei. As the cash incentives she received Rs 1.5 lakhs and CM gave another Rs 1.5 lakhs for her outstanding performance in the Asian meet.
Dutee Chand clocked 23.74sec to take the gold medal in the 200m sprint to emerge as India’s new sprint queen. The limelight also fell on the Dutee in the junior women 4X400m relay team who grabbed the top spot with a timing of 3:40:53. The quartet comprising of Dutee Chand, VV Jisha, Jessy Joseph and GK Vijaya Kumari romped home, ahead of the Thai team and the hosts, who finished second and third respectively.
