Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to lay foundation stone of world class Convention-cum-Trade Zone (CTZ) on Tuesday at the sprawling Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar. This was informed by the Industry Minister Debi Prasad Mishra.
The world class Convention-cum-Trade Zone (CTZ) at Bhubaneswar will be built at an estimated investment of Rs 300 crore.
“It would be one of the finest, modern, world class architectural iconic facilities in India as well as in Asia," said Mishra, adding that the CTZ would exceed the specification of the Hyderabad International Convention Centre, which is presently a benchmark for modern Convention Centers in India. The Bhubaneswar convention zone would have the facility to accommodate at least 6,000 delegates in the convention hall having a long projection screen, which is one of the longest projection screens in the world, he said.
Stating that the State Public Sector Undertaking IDCO is the nodal agency for the CTZ, the Industries Minister said that the facility is targeted to be completed in three years time. M/s Populous Design of Australia has been roped in to prepare its architectural design, he informed. There are plans to have open exhibition and open public gathering area to accommodate up to 25,000 people, an open air auditorium and an amphitheatre, besides a parking space, Mishra said.
He also said that a 4-Star most modern hotel with 11-storey building having around 200 suits would be constructed inside the CTZ complex for the delegates, who would participate in the trade related activities.The facility will also have indoor exhibition hall of 50,000 sq meter and meeting rooms having seating capacity for 25 to 300 people and halls to accommodate 100 to 1,000 people, sources said. The CTZ will also have sky walk facility connecting the neighbouring star hotels and trade centers like fortune tower, he said.
